'I, me, mine' at the root of our problems

The "me first'" prevailing American attitude, seemingly in vogue since the '80s has proved to be the crux of most of our problems as we limp forward.

Until that selfish, backward thinking changes, we as a nation will continue to fail our people, our children and disgrace our heritage. The hope lies in collective leadership that looks at our future with an attitude and mantra of "it's not about me, but it's about us."

Us as a people and Us as a nation.
