District 50 bilingual program:

Woodland Elementary District 50 will host its first Bilingual Parent Advisory Council meeting of the year at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 24, at the Woodland Elementary East School cafeteria, 17261 W. Gages Lake Road, Gages Lake. Information will be discussed in Spanish and English, but parents of all language backgrounds are invited to attend. The meeting is for bilingual parents with students in the English Language Learners, Bilingual or Dual Language programs. The topics for the meeting include programs Woodland offers to support children in the curricular areas along with learning the English language. Staff from the Warren Township Youth and Family Services will attend to discuss resources they offer. The evening will include pizza and a raffle, and child care will be provided. Future meetings are set for Dec. 18, Feb. 11 and April 8 at the Woodland Elementary East School cafeteria. For information, contact Elizabeth Szepesi, 847-596-5623 or at eszepesi@dist50.net
