Auto show in Des Plaines to benefit Scouting program
The 2nd Annual Cool Cruisers & Hot Dogs Auto Show, a fundraiser for local Boy Scout programs, will be held Sunday in Des Plaines.
Classic cars older than 1989 can enter the show for $20 on a first-come, first-served basis, and prizes will be awarded for first, second and third places, as well as participant choice awards. The event will be held in the parking lot of Rand Red Hots, 1441 Rand Road.
Proceeds will benefit the Boy Scouts of America's STEM initiative, an effort to spark youth interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
The event, scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., will also feature a live DJ, 50/50 raffle, and flag presentation. The rain date is Oct. 5.
