Chilly weather can't keep crowds from cold beer at Palatine brew fest

Cold beer and chilly weather paired up Saturday as the Palatine Jaycees hosted their second annual Fall Back Brew Fest.

Visitors to the event held in the Palatine Family Aquatic Center parking lot had a chance to sample from about 150 beers from more than 50 local and national breweries.

Live music and food trucks also were part of the event, which drew a crowd despite crisp fall temperatures that toped out in the upper 40s.

The fest is a fundraiser for the Jaycees, which provides community grants to organizations serving Palatine residents, scholarships to local college students and organizes Palatine's annual Hometown Fest.
