Crews clean up fuel spill shutting freeway in Detroit area

ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) - Authorities worked in icy conditions to clean up a fuel spill that shut down westbound Interstate 94 near Detroit.

The spill of about 1,000 gallons of diesel fuel in Allen Park happened after a semi-tanker crash that was reported late Wednesday night.

No injuries were reported.

The Michigan Department of Transportation is urging motorists to avoid the area. The freeway could reopen later on Thursday.
