Credit union offers state employees payroll assistance loans

BANNOCKBURN - Great Lakes Credit Union is offering special low rate loans to assist its members who are state of Illinois employees whose payroll may be interrupted due to the budget impasse.

"We pride ourselves in providing members with loan solutions, such as our payroll assistance program for state employees, to help them continue to meet the financial needs of their families," said Vikki Kaiser, president/CEO of Great Lakes Credit Union.

Members can contact GLCU's call center (800) 982-7850 for details. Loan representatives are available to help on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m.-6 p.m., on Wednesday from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m.- 3 p.m.

"Members may also visit any of our ten branches, or go to GLCU's website to apply," Kaiser added. "We don't want our members employed by the state of Illinois to be financially stressed, so we make the loan process simple and the funds available quickly."

All state of Illinois employees 18 years of age experiencing an interruption in payroll due to the current State budget impasse may apply.
