Deadline looms for disabled deer hunt sign-up
MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin wildlife officials are reminding disabled deer hunters the deadline to sign up for the state's special disabled hunt is approaching.
The 2014 disabled hunt is set to begin on Oct. 4 and run through Oct. 12. The hunt will take place on more than 76,000 acres of land that property owners have offered up for use across 44 counties.
Hunters have until Sept. 1 to enroll with a property owner. A list of landowners is available on the state Department of Natural Resources' website.
