Joliet man gets 105-year sentence for assaulting girl, 10

JOLIET, Ill. (AP) - A Joliet man will spend the rest of his life in prison for sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl.

Will County Judge David Carlson sentenced 36-year-old James R. Robinson on Tuesday to 105 years in prison on three counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child and one count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

State's Attorney James Glasgow says Robinson was watching the girl during the period he assaulted her and threatened to kill her family if she reported him.

Robinson had prior convictions for criminal sexual abuse and drug-dealing.

Carlson imposed consecutive 33-year terms for each count of predatory criminal sexual assault and six years for aggravated criminal sexual abuse.
