Colorful kites fill the sky in Wheaton, despite light winds

Hundreds of colorful kits filled the sky above Graf Park Saturday during the Wheaton Park District's Go Fly a Kite event.

Participants brought a kite of their own or simply enjoyed watching the precision of professional kite fliers.

The free event featured kite demonstrations by the Chicago Fire Kite Team and contests for the highest flying kite and most unusual kite.

Aside from the kite flying, there were concessions, crafts, vendors and other kid-friendly activities.
