Michigan hires Harbaugh's son as tight ends coach

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) - Jim Harbaugh's son is joining Michigan's new football staff as a tight ends coach.

The school says Tuesday that Jay Harbaugh will also be an assistant special teams coach. He spent the 2014 season as an offensive quality control coach for the Baltimore Ravens, who are coached by his uncle, John Harbaugh.

The Wolverines hired Jim Harbaugh as their new head coach late last month. He says Jay gained experience coaching in the NFL and his passion for teaching the game is high.
