Libertyville Days comes to a close
Classic cars, food and music marked the closing day of the annual Libertyville Days festival Sunday in downtown Libertyville.
Highlights included a Corvette and Chevy street rods Father's Day charity show at Libertyville Chevrolet, a watermelon eating contest, a bags tournament, a manicure and hair-braiding event in Cook Park, and a Cook Mansion open house.
Food vendors, an arts and craft fair, carnival rides and games continued throughout the day.
Entertainment included Mellencougar, featuring a tribute to America, rock 'n' roll and John Mellencamp. Local fusion rock band Sneezy took the main stage to close out the festival.
Todd Derma of Libertyville plays Wack-A-Mole with his daughter, Grayson, 7, on Sunday, the final day of the Libertyville Days Festival at Cook Park. The festival raises funds for the Libertyville Civic Center and included a carnival, live music and an arts and crafts fair.
