Mundelein 11, Wheeling 0 (5 inn.): The visiting Wildcats managed 6 hits but also committed 3 errors in dropping a nonconference contest. Nathan Cooney was a bright spot at the top of the order for Wheeling (4-2), going 3-for-3 at the plate.
Christian Liberty 14, Round Lake 2 (5 inn.): The host Chargers charged past the Panthers by coming up with 14 hits in a nonconference victory.
Senior Tom Keplar earned the win for Christian Liberty, while Peter Grob (double), Aiden Miller and Chris Hoffman (triples) had extra-base hits.
South Elgin 10, Rolling Meadows 2: The visiting Mustangs were only out-hit 8-7 but couldn't overcome 6 errors in nonconference play. Terry Moran had 2 hits for Meadows, and Hank Holm drove in both Mustangs runs with a double.
