Left lane, left shoulder opened on southbound Interstate 55

The left lane and left shoulder on southbound Interstate 55 at County Line Road have been opened, but the rest of the southbound lanes are still closed due to a hazardous material leak, police said.

A preliminary investigation indicates a semitrailer truck leaked fluid onto the shoulder of the roadway, according to an Illinois State Police news release.

Crews are on the scene, and the incident is not affecting northbound I-55 traffic, authorities said.
