2 charged in February death of 3-year-old Indiana girl
JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. (AP) - Prosecutors have charged a southern Indiana woman and her ex-boyfriend in the February death of the woman's 3-year-old daughter.
Twenty-three-year-old Cynthia Weigleb and 27-year-old Joseph Manske were arrested Tuesday in Alexis Arensman's death on one count each of neglect of a dependent resulting in death.
The News and Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/1MKpOoD ) an autopsy found the girl was battered and suffered multiple blunt force injuries.
Weigleb and Manske also face one count each of neglect of a dependent resulting in serious bodily injury for severe injuries the 3-year-old's sister also suffered at Weigleb's Clarksville home.
Online court records don't list attorneys who could speak on their behalf. They remain jailed, pending initial court hearings.
Clark County Prosecutor Jeremy Mull says he's "eager to obtain justice for these two little girls."
