Butterfield Road crossing work:

Butterfield Road will close at 6 a.m. Monday, Oct. 6, at the railroad crossing just south of Route 60 in Mundelein for a repair project. Canadian National Railway plans to improve the crossing during the six-day shutdown, Mundelein police said. Butterfield Road is expected to reopen to traffic the evening of Saturday, Oct. 11. The signed detour route for this road closure will be Route 60 to Route 45 to Butterfield. Additionally, to stop cut-through traffic, Armour Boulevard will be closed at Butterfield Road. Mundelein police will assist with initial implementation of the road closure with officers in the area.
