VHHS team wins title

Vernon Hills High School's Worldwide Youth in Science and Engineering team has won the fifth state trophy in team history, officials announced Monday. The team captured first-place honors last week in the state competition held at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. The team also won the state title in 2014, 2011, 2010 and 2009.
