Reds bury White Sox in Game 1, 10-4

The White Sox have had a tough enough time generating offense against American League teams, and they entered Saturday ranked last with 83 runs.

The trend continued against the Reds during interleague play at U.S. Cellular Field.

After Friday night's game was rained out, the Sox and Cincinnati played a doubleheader at U.S. Cellular Field Saturday.

In Game 1, Reds starter Johnny Cueto had very little trouble against the White Sox' lineup.

Cincinnati won 10-3 as Cueto went 8⅓ innings while allowing 4 runs on 6 hits.

Cueto had a shutout going until Sox shortstop Alexei Ramirez hit his 100th career home run, a solo shot in the seventh inning.

The White Sox added 3 runs in the ninth inning, including Jose Abreu's solo homer in the ninth.

White Sox starter Hector Noesi was knocked out of the game with a lower back contusion in the second inning after being hit by a Billy Hamilton line drive.

Scott Carroll came on in relief and allowed 3 runs (2 earned) on 5 hits in 4⅔ innings.

The Reds blew the game open with 7 runs in the ninth inning off Dan Jennings and Jake Petricka.
