Batavia fire official to take job in Wisconsin
Batavia Deputy Fire Chief Randall Banker is leaving to become the fire chief for Janesville, Wisconsin.
The Janesville Police and Fire Commission hired Banker Wednesday. According to a press release from the city, he will start work there Jan. 5.
Banker is retiring from Batavia.
He began working for Batavia part-time in 1989. Before that, he was a firefighter in Geneva for five years. He became deputy chief in 2012.
His base pay in Batavia is $125,156, according to the city's 2015 compensation report.
The current Janesville chief is retiring, according to the release.
