Central Indiana bog makes comeback after drought

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) - A popular site to view wildlife in north central Indiana has made a comeback.

WLFI-TV reports heavy snow over the winter has raised the water levels at Celery Bog in West Lafayette to where they were before the 2012 drought sent them plunging.

West Lafayette Parks Stewardship Director Dan Dunten says thousands of minnows have been released into the bog to allow bass and other fish to multiply more quickly.

Even though the drought lowered water levels, Dunten says pockets of deeper water allowed fish and other animals to survive.
