Some clarifications of stories needed
On Jan. 19 a large picture on the front page of the Daily Herald showed two men planning their wedding with a clergyman. There was also a picture and an article inside. The headline read “Married with the eyes of God.” God doesn’t have eyes — he is a spirit.
The next week, there also was front-page coverage of a high school teacher who is sharing his views of same-sex involvement, with more information inside the paper. The problem is people will remember this information and call it “gospel” or truth because they read it in their newspaper. But these groups represent only a very small percentage of our population.
The Daily Herald also said the 500 people who walked in the snow earlier this month in Palatine were those who supported anti-abortion values. That is the wrong — they marched in support of life, the lives of unborn babies. In a recent Sunday front section, check out the two pages of information and a list of donors who support life.
