Volunteers needed to help weed city hall gardens

Spring means yard season for many people, and for the city of Geneva, that includes maintaining the city hall gardens.

With all the recent rain, they could use some dedicated volunteers to help pull weeds to make the gardens shine for summer.

People only need to bring a pair of work gloves and join the garden spruce-up effort from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday, June 19, at City Hall, 22 S. First St. Residents and some city staff members will help beautify the gardens just in time for the upcoming Swedish Days, Tuesday to Sunday, June 23-28.

The forecast is expected to be clear June 19, but the city will reschedule the garden work in case of inclement weather. Check back for updates on the city's website at www.geneva.il.us or call city hall at (630) 232-7494.
