Not all deserve lifetime pensions
We hear time and time again that changing the pensions for the unionized Illinois workers is unconstitutional as it is written into the constitution. Well, so is the Flat Tax system we have, and they're talking about changing the constitution to allow for a progressive tax.
So if they can change the constitution to suit their out of control spending habits, by raising everyone's taxes then I would assume they can change the pension plan's "no diminish" clause they put into the constitution as well.
The only workers that deserve the pensions they were promised are the police and firemen who protect and put their lives on the line for us. No one else deserves lifetime pensions and insurance after working for 20 years. Sorry but as we all know it is not sustainable.
