School custodian sentenced for sex with student

QUINCY, Ill. - A former custodian in a western Illinois school district has been sent to prison for having sex with a 15-year-old student.

According to The Quincy Herald-Whig, 27-year-old Trent D. Taylor of Golden was sentenced Friday in Adams County circuit court in Quincy to four and a half years in prison.

He pleaded guilty in May to one count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

Taylor was working as a custodian at the junior high and high school in Liberty when he was arrested Jan. 29. Liberty is about 90 miles west of Springfield.

Police said Taylor had sex with the special education student after first becoming friends with her. He also had photos of the girl undressed on his cell phone.
