Lincolnshire burglary arrest

A Chicago man has been arrested in connection with a Lincolnshire residential burglary involving the theft of more than $50,000 in jewelry, police said Thursday.

Moris Y. Polis, 58, of the 6200 block of North Avers Avenue, surrendered to Lincolnshire police detectives Jan. 17. He is charged with residential burglary and theft.

He was taken to the Lake County jail and is out on bond after posting 10% of his $50,000 bail.

Police said officers responded to the 200 block of Pembroke Drive at 11:03 p.m. Dec. 21 for a residential burglary after homeowners found their house had been ransacked and the jewelry stolen.

Detectives investigating the case determined the identity of the suspect and obtained a warrant for Polis. Police said the jewelry has not been recovered.
