Milwaukee police return stolen puppy to owner

MILWAUKEE (AP) - A Milwaukee pet owner has been reunited with his 3-month-old Chihuahua after the puppy was stolen last week.

Muñeca, which means doll in Spanish, was stolen Jan. 14 from his owner's backyard. Antonio Herrera says he saw a woman standing by a corner when he let his four dogs out and noticed Muñeca was missing several minutes later. He says he ran outside and saw the same woman who was carrying the puppy.

Herrera says he called police and attempted to chase the woman but eventually lost track of her.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel (http://bit.ly/1yQh9xj ) reports police located surveillance footage of the suspect and arrested her Sunday. Police say the 20-year-old woman sold the puppy and it took several days to find her.

Muñeca was returned to Herrera on Wednesday.
