International Walk to School Day:
Children from Lake Zurich Elementary District 95's Isaac Fox Elementary School will participate in International Walk to School Day. Isaac Fox students will be joined Wednesday morning by parents, faculty, Lake Zurich Police Chief Steven Husak, Lake Zurich Mayor Thomas Poynton, Kildeer Mayor Nandia Black, District 95 Superintendent Michael Egan and others. Each student will receive a healthy snack, while parents will get free Starbucks coffee. The walk is designed to promote healthier lifestyle habits, a cleaner environment and to boost a sense of community. Officials said the day also is designed to bring awareness to safety issues, such as a lack of sidewalks and speeding vehicles.
