4 hurt in crash on I-88
Four people were taken to the hospital Wednesday night after a crash on Interstate 88, fire officials said.
The crash happened at 8:30 p.m. on westbound I-88 just west of Route 59, Naperville Fire Capt. Paul Martin said. Four patients were taken by ambulance to Edward Hospital in Naperville and Mercy Hospital in Aurora. Another eight people signed medical releases at the scene.
“The accident was spread out across several hundred yards,” he said. “I don't know how many vehicles were involved.”
Some lanes of traffic remained blocked until 9:30 p.m. Aurora, Plainfield and Lisle-Woodridge fire departments assisted.
