214@100: Prospect music department wins Grammy Gold

After being chosen as a Grammy Signature School Finalist in 2009 and 2010, Prospect High School made the list again in 2012. This time, though, the school was awarded Gold Status, which put Prospect's Music Department among the top six in the country.

"When English teacher Jeremy Morton told us that we won gold, it was totally out of the blue," Director of Bands Chris Barnum told the school newspaper in 2012. "This is a really big deal to us."

Director of Choirs Jennifer Troiano said in 2012, "Some of the best schools in the United States have won this, and to know that we have been recognized for our talented kids is really important."
