I-90 reopens after truck fire
The Jane Addams Tollway was closed in both directions for more than an hour and a half Friday after a semitrailer truck caught fire near Huntley.
State police said the tollway was reopened at 6:40 p.m. Police said the incident occurred about 3:50 p.m. on westbound I-90 at the 43.25-mile marker.
Police said the driver of the truck noticed smoke and flames pouring from the hood. He then pulled over onto the shoulder and exited the vehicle.
Traffic was diverted while the scene was cleared.
Police said the truck contained concrete hardener, but there was no hazardous materials situation.
The fire may have caused some damage to the roadway, police said.
No one was hurt, and no other vehicles were damaged.
