Deer Park Woman to Compete in Miss Teen USA State Pageant

Olivia Pura from Deer Park, daughter of Anna and Derek has been selected to participate in the 2016 Miss Illinois Teen USA Pageant. The pageant will take place September 4-7 in Skokie, Illinois at the North Shore Center for the Performing Arts. She will be competing as Miss Teen Deer Park and will compete in swimsuit, evening gown, and interview competitions. The pageant has two age divisions, and the winners will go on to represent our state in the 2016 Miss USA and Miss Teen USA Pageant. The Miss USA Pageant system stresses good morals, physical fitness, communication skills, social awareness and community involvement.

Olivia will be a senior at Lake Zurich High School this fall. Interesting facts about Olivia are that she scored a perfect 36 on her ACT as a sophomore in 2014. Besides being an avid student, she enjoys dance classes, painting, spending time with family and friends, and volunteering for Habitat for Humanity.
