Song search winner named

Dylan Kroll of Waukegan is the grand prize winner of Visit Lake County's "I Love Lake County" song search. At Mickey Finn's brewery in Libertyville, Kroll performed "Lake County, the Bounty of Illinois" and other songs, winning both the grand prize and the fan vote portion of the competition. The other top entries selected by a panel of judges were Diamond Z (Marcus Ziegler) of Libertyville; The Rory Tyer Band of Libertyville; and The Band Squared (Griff Johnson) of Grayslake. Kroll graduated from Warren Township High School in Gurnee and for four years was the lead singer in "Da Offbeats," Six Flags Great America's a capella group. www.visitlakecounty.org.
