JP Wood Martial Arts in Palatine Hosts 16th Annual Samurang Games and Martial Arts Festival

This coming Saturday, April 11, 2015, epic tournament is coming to Palatine - the 16th annual Samurang Games & Martial Arts Festival hosted by JP Wood Martial Arts America and presented by Pan American Bank in Palatine.

The event will be held at Falcon Park Recreational Center, 2195 Hicks Road in Palatine, and feature a full-day of skill contests, such as Stand High Kick, Jump High Kick, Fast Kicking, Spin Kick and Warrior Obstacle Course.

There also will be Board Breaking (Downward Knife Hand or Hammer Fist Strike) and Weapon Skills Activities, such as Target Thrusting with staffs and swords and Paper Cutting with swords.

In addition to the contests, there also will be eight events in forms and sparring.

The four Ring Sponsors are EPIC Urgent and Family Care, State Farm Agent Dominic Spadavecchio, Allied Air Conditioning and Heating Corp and Foundation Sport and Spine Ltd.

So come on out for a day of excitement and cheer on local martial arts students displaying their talents.

The Samurang Games & Martial Arts Festival opens at 9:30 a.m. and runs until 5:30 p.m. Spectator admission is free for children ages 3 and under, $5 for 4 through 9 and $7 for those 10 years of age or older.
