Avoid Rt. 41 in Lake Forest, police advise

The signals at the intersection of Route 41 and Old Elm Road in Lake Forest have been disabled since Saturday, when the control box for the intersection was struck by a car, police said in a news release.

The Illinois Department of Transportation does not expect the lights to be in full service until Monday afternoon, police said.

Police expect substantial delays during Monday morning's rush hour and advise drivers to choose another route.
