Fire trucks, food collection part of Lake Villa's annual St. Patrick's Day parade

The village of Lake Villa colored the town green Saturday with the annual St. Patrick's Day parade.

The parade kicked off at noon from Palombi Middle School and wound through a nearby neighborhood before heading through downtown. The procession ended at the Lake Villa VFW Hall.

Floats, music and firetrucks were part of this community event that attracts parade lovers from across the area.

The annual tradition included a food collection for the Lake Villa Township Food Pantry and the corned beef and cabbage luncheon after the parade at the Lake Villa VFW.
