Appeals court upholds ruling dismissing ex-coach's lawsuit

RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - A state appeals court has upheld the decision by a lower court to dismiss a lawsuit filed by the former head football coach at N.C. Central University who was fired in connection with a domestic violence incident in 2013.

In a decision filed Tuesday, the N.C. Court of Appeals wrote that former coach Henry Frazier failed to exhaust available administrative remedies and couldn't show that those remedies were inadequate.

Frazier was fired one week before the start of the 2013 season and three days after he was arrested on a charge of violating a domestic violence protective order. It was his second arrest in 16 months. He accused the school of breaching his contract by firing him before his case was resolved. He was acquitted in the 2013 case.
