Quest Academy Scholastic Bowl Team wins state championship
Congratulations to the Quest Academy Scholastic Bowl team on capturing first place in the Illinois Elementary School Association Class A State Scholastic Bowl Tournament on Friday, May 8.
After four rounds of competition at the Civic Center in Peoria, the Quest team emerged victorious as the state champions.
The coaches, families and the school are so proud of how well students played through the IESA State Series. The Quest team has advanced to the State Tournament over past several years and was the Class A state champions in both 2011 and 2013.
Congratulations to team members: Elizabeth A., Audrey B., Jackson D., Matthew G., Rachna G., Sonya G., Jeevan K., Nikita K., Connor L., Aubrey L., Jacob L., Max L., Avani M., Vikram M., Arjun N., Vikas R., Rose R., Brennan Z., and Nicholas Z., as well as Coach Lisa Groh.
"I couldn't be prouder of how our team has improved this year, and of their consistently outstanding sportsmanship," said Groh.
Groh has been coaching Scholastic Bowl at Quest Academy since 2009, for students in grades five through eight.
Quest Academy was fortunate to have 12 returning players seasoned in Scholastic Bowl competition. In addition, they have state-winning Quest alums (and also previous co-captains) that volunteered to help their alma mater with practices, workshops, matches and tournaments. The alums include Colin Groh '13, Selena Groh '11 and Alex Li '13.
Quest Academy provides gifted children with a challenging curriculum and a nurturing environment.
