Pink squad car in Rosemont is all about breast cancer awareness

A pink squad car is on display around Rosemont in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The village's public safety department decorated the car with pink wrapping to bring attention to the disease, said Chief Don Stephens III. The vehicle, now stationed at the Fashion Outlets of Chicago, has been at the Allstate Arena, MB Financial Park, Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, and guard station at the entrance to the gated residential community on Higgins Road. The car is a reserve vehicle and isn't being used for in-progress emergency calls, Stephens said, but is equipped as any other police car in case it is needed. At the end of the month, the pink stickers will be removed, he said.
