New Tour Hours Announced at the Historical Museum

The Arlington Heights Historical Museum collects and preserves significant materials related to our past, and shares them through educational and recreational activities that promote community heritage and pride. The Museum Complex is comprised of five buildings at the northwest corner of Vail and Fremont: the 1882 Müller House, the coach house, the 1906 Soda Pop Factory building, the 1908 Banta House, and a replica 1830s log house.

Tours of the complex are led by volunteer docents at 2:30 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Group tours are available by appointment. Tour fees are $4 for adults and $2 for children ages 3-14.

The Historical Society also operates a small local history research library, open to the public Thursdays, 1:00-4:00 p.m. and Fridays, 9:00 a.m.-12:00 noon. It contains photographs, newspaper clippings, maps and archival material relating to Arlington Heights history and is available for use by researchers.

The Heritage Gallery and Shop, located in the Soda Pop Factory building, is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday 1:30-4:30 p.m. The Heritage Gallery specializes in local history exhibits drawn from the Historical Society's extensive collections along with an annual Arlington Artists on Display each fall. The Heritage Gallery Shop offers a selection of local and historical gifts, books, note cards, aprons, mugs, old fashioned holiday items and more.

The main entrance is at 110-112 W. Fremont St., one block south of Euclid Avenue and three blocks west of Arlington Heights Road.
