Hampshire-Henpeck HCE to learn about library programs

Hampshire-Henpeck HCE, a unit of Kane County Association for Home and Community Education, will meet at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, at the Heartland Bank, Route 72 and Warner, Hampshire.

Hampshire-Henpeck HCE is having a special guest speaker this month, Scott Grotto, adult and teen service manager for Ella Johnson Memorial Public Library in Hampshire. Grotto will give a presentation on the services and events the library has to offer the community. The presentation will begin at 1 p.m. All are invited to attend.

A book on gardening, "Nonstop Color Garden" by Nellie Neal, was donated to the library in honor of Hampshire resident Betty Nissen, who died last October at age 85, a member of HCE since 1975.

Nomination and election of officers is on the agenda for this month. Refreshments for this month's meeting will be served by hostesses Doris Klock and Barbara Mursu.

If you would like more information on the meeting or the organization, call Barbara Mursu at (847) 683-2426 or Barb Janicak at (847) 946-4696.
