Libertyville company stresses health, wellness to employees
MBX Systems of Libertyville stressed health awareness to its employees Thursday during a special fair at the company.
More than 100 employees participated in the inaugural health and wellness event that provided health screenings, activities and information.
"This is a big initiative for the company to focus on wellness," human resources manager Kelly Bentley said. "The theme is 'Spring Into Wellness' and we asked employees to write down a wellness goal."
MBX made a point of choosing local companies for the health fair that included the Libertyville Sports Complex, Libertyville Acupuncture, Health Maintenance Institute, Advocate Health Care, United Health Care and others.
Employees had a chance to have their blood pressure checked, sit for a massage, learn about the risks of unhealthy lifestyles, and sip on smoothies and eat healthy snacks.
"This is fantastic," support engineer Shayne Wood said after receiving a massage at the Libertyville Wellness Group booth. "Spring into Wellness is a great way to promote a healthy all-around lifestyle."
