Kyuki-Do instructor recognized at surprise ceremony

Karen Lang was awarded her instructor uniform in a surprise ceremony at Kyuki-Do Martial Art of Elgin on June 4.

Lang is a 1st Dan Black Belt in Kyuki-Do and has been the lead instructor for the Kyuki-Do Program at The Centre of Elgin for over 2 years. She has successfully completed certified instructor training at the academy level and is currently enrolled in Kyuki-Do instructor training at the federation level, through the American Kyuki-Do Federation.

"Presenting an individual with a red (instructor) uniform is a decision that is based on demonstrated ability, contribution to the growth of the student body and continuing individual growth," said Master Jeff Kim, owner of Kyuki-Do Martial Arts of Elgin. "We are very proud of Ms. Lang's achievements and honored to have her as part of our team."
