Two pedestrians struck by car in Palatine

Two pedestrians were seriously injured Monday night after being hit by a car in Palatine, fire officials said.

The crash happened around 7 p.m. on Smith Street at the intersection of Brandon Court, just north of Northwest Highway, Palatine Capt. Steve Schweitzer said.

Both were taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge with serious injuries, he said. No further information was available Monday evening.
