2 arrested in Batavia store break-in

Two men have been charged with trying to break into a hardware store in Batavia Wednesday night, according to police.

An employee at Ace Hardware, 1901 W. Wilson St., called police at 9:50 p.m. when he heard people walking on the roof of the store, then saw that the roof access panel was moving.

Police said they found one man holding a ladder against the rear wall of the building and another climbing down the ladder.

Christian Dean Seidelman, 36, of the 0-99 block of Whitney Way, Montgomery, was charged with attempted burglary, possession of burglary tools, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and trespassing, police said in a news release. Bail has been set at $50,000.

Lawrence R. Lynch, 46, of the 0-99 block of Anns Lane, Aurora, was charged with attempted burglary and trespassing, police said. Bail was set at $30,000.
