Bednar appointed to state Farmers Market Association
Mundelein Farmers Market Manager Jo Ann Bednar was recently appointed to the board of directors of the Illinois Farmers Market Association.
The mission of the IFMA is to provide educational support for farmers market organizers, farmers, vendors and other community food and nutrition organizations through workshops, webinars, and various social marketing venues. The Illinois Farmers Market Association is a 501c3 tax-exempt organization.
The Mundelein market is a member of the Illinois Farmers Market Association and also is a participant in the “Where Fresh Is” marketing program sponsored by the IFMA.
The Mundelein Farmers Market is held from 3-7 p.m. Fridays, mid-June through mid-October, at Park Avenue and Seymour Street in downtown Mundelein. The market opens its fourth year June 13.
“We are already in the planning stages of this year’s market,” Bednar said. “There is much interest from vendors, musicians, and business sponsors. We are looking forward to another great season and seeing the hundreds of Mundelein residents supporting the farmers market each week.”
The market is sponsored by Mundelein Community Connection and supported by the village of Mundelein.
