Grayslake family scores $35,000 in Jewel-Osco's Monopoly game
A Grayslake family has won the biggest prize so far this year in Jewel-Osco's Monopoly game, a spokeswoman said.
Jen and Keith Roberts and their four children received a $35,000 check Saturday at their local Jewel-Osco on Route 120 in Grayslake. The Roberts family wound up with enough matching Monopoly game pieces to fill the board that dangled the potential $35,000 winning.
“It's our biggest winner so far,” said Melissa Hill, spokeswoman for Itasca-based Jewel-Osco.
Jen Roberts received the final game piece needed for the $35,000 prize when she shopped at the Jewel-Osco on April 9, Hill said, and her husband brought the board to the store that evening. Hill said a Grayslake front-end store manager confirmed the game markers for the $35,000 prize and submitted them for validation.
Hill said there also has been a $10,000 Monopoly winner. Still to be had are prizes for $50,000, $100,000 and $1 million.
