Woman's body recovered from river

A Chicago woman was found dead Monday in the Des Plaines River, a day after her vehicle crashed into the water, police said.

The crash happened at 4:40 p.m. Sunday on Thatcher Avenue just south of North Avenue in River Forest, Illinois State Police said in a news release.

Police say Christina N. Hill, 23, was driving a 2005 silver Nissan Sentra when it struck a guard rail, rolled over and came to rest in the river. Officers who responded were unable to locate Hill Sunday. The search resumed Monday, and divers located Hill's body just after noon.

Numerous agencies assisted in the search and rescue, including Des Plaines.
