House backs allowing live dealers at horse track casinos

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - The Indiana House has endorsed allowing live dealers for table games at the state's two horse track casinos despite the apparent opposition of Gov. Mike Pence to that move.

House members voted 76-22 on Tuesday to keep that provision in the bill.

Supporters say allowing live dealers will help boost business at the horse track casinos and that it's a key part of a bill. The measure also would allow riverboat casinos to move onto land.

House Speaker Brian Bosma says Pence has said he is against allowing live dealers at the tracks.

Changes made to the bill Tuesday call for a special committee to study proposed casino tax changes that could have cost local governments millions of dollars in revenues.

The House could vote Wednesday on the full bill.
