Go on a woodpecker walk

You can learn about woodpeckers, then take a hike in search of the birds Sunday, Aug. 16, at the Fort Sheridan Forest Preserve near Highland Park. Organized by the Lake County Forest Preserve District, the "Woodpecker Walk" event will run from 8:30 to 10 a.m. It's open to adults and families with kids at least 6 years old.
