Efforts of thousands have saved babies' lives

"This news shows what God can accomplish when His people pray," states Shawn Carney, campaign director for the fall "40 Days for Life" event. From Sept. 12 to Nov. 4, 546 babies' lives were saved.

"40 Days for Life" was launched in 2004 and tracks biblical history, where God used 40-day periods to transform individuals, communities and the entire world. From Noah in the flood to Moses on the mountain to the disciples after Christ's resurrection, it is clear that God sees the transformative value of His people accepting and meeting a 40-day challenge.

Since its founding, this interdenominational, peaceful prayer vigil and fasting campaign has spread to 27 nations, involving more than 625,000 volunteers. Approximately 9,500 babies' lives have been saved, 59 abortion centers have closed and 107 abortion workers have quit.

To add to this exciting news, a former Planned Parenthood clinic, located in Bryan/College Station, Texas, has closed its doors for good. This facility was responsible for the deaths of 6,400 children. "40 Days for Life" has announced that this building will now become the national headquarters for its organization, and also house Hope Crisis Pregnancy Center, an affiliate of CareNet.

Those Americans who feel that every life is precious and the unborn have an "inalienable" right to live certainly have something wonderful to be grateful for this Thanksgiving season.
