Central Illinois woman pleads guilty in Harristown killings

DECATUR, Ill. (AP) - A central Illinois woman has pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 50 years in prison in connection with the 2011 killings of two women in Harristown and the wounding of a third.

The (Decatur) Herald and Review reports (http://bit.ly/1iyj0Tc ) Katrina Giles entered the plea to one count of first-degree murder on Monday, the same day her trial was to begin. Her brother, Timothy Giles, is serving a life sentence after pleading guilty to the murders earlier this year.

Katrina Giles was given 35 years for the first-degree murder count plus 15 years for using a firearm.

The two admitted to the stabbing and shooting deaths of 57-year-old Cindanette Eaton and her daughter, 23-year-old Lindsey Eaton at their Harristown home. Casey Eaton, Cindanette Eatson's daughter, was injured in the attack.
